Clear Thinking: Turning Ordinary Moments into Extraordinary Results by Shane Parrish
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Judging by the cover title, I thought this is a book about concentration and some tips about decision making.
Well, I was wrong.
‘Moments’ in the title seems understated because this book isn’t just about a slice of a life. It is a book that helps us develop that mindset for a meaningful existence beyond the superficial perception of what success may look like from other people’s perspective.
Some of the early chapters of this book educates us about the brutal truth – things we don’t want to hear but ought to know. Oftentimes we do need to be slapped in the face about realities or those moments where we dismiss other’s perspective because it is inconvenient. Because the inconvenience pales in comparison to the pain it can give us if we don’t acknowledge the lessons others have learnt before us. Painful lessons that we could have avoided by just listening to those who have been there, done that (because we can never know every experience every human learned in life).
This book reminds us of those lessons and what mindset to carry and acts to do in order to learn from the past which Shane Parrish generously articulated plus foundational lessons from several famous people that taught him before.
This is a book that should be in our library (both digital and physical).
